Power Electronics Lab
IIT Bombay.
Advanced power electronics research and development facility at one of India's premier technical institutions. High-power inverter testing, motor drive characterization, and power quality measurement up to 500 kW. SINE incubation partner.
Research meets production validation.
The IIT Bombay Power Electronics Lab combines world-class research infrastructure with practical industrial validation capability. As a SINE (Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) incubation partner, Power Flux AI has privileged access to high-power test equipment, research collaboration with faculty, and the broader IIT Bombay innovation ecosystem. The lab supports inverter testing up to 500 kW, motor drive characterization across the full torque-speed envelope, and IEEE 519-2014 harmonic compliance verification using precision power analyzers.
What this lab enables.
Inverter & Drive Testing up to 500 kW
Full-power inverter and motor drive characterization. Efficiency measurement across the operating envelope. Thermal imaging under load. Dynamic performance measurement — step response, ramp rate, load rejection.
IEEE 519 Compliance Verification
THDi measurement to IEEE 519-2014. Individual harmonic order analysis to the 50th harmonic. Power factor and displacement power factor. Flicker and voltage regulation measurement. Calibrated power analyzers with class 0.1 accuracy.
AI Platform Collaboration
Joint research on AI-driven motor control algorithms and digital twin methodologies with IIT Bombay faculty. Access to GPU compute infrastructure for ML model training. Co-authorship on IEEE publications.
Dynamometer & Efficiency Mapping
Motor efficiency map measurement across torque-speed range. Back-EMF measurement, cogging torque measurement, and thermal rise testing. Support for motor prototype characterization and design validation.
SINE Startup Support
Access to SINE incubation facilities — office space, prototyping equipment, and the IIT Bombay alumni and investor network. Mentorship from faculty with deep power electronics domain expertise.
Pre-Certification Testing
Pre-compliance testing against BIS, IEC, and IEEE standards before formal certification submission. Reduces formal certification cost and timeline risk.
